As a pop music superstar in Croatia at age 19, Tatiani Matejas represented Yugoslavia in the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest, an event that in 1970s had given rise to talent no less the like of the supergroup ABBA. She took seventh place with her song Hajde da Ludujemo, Let's Go Crazy, and soon the she found herself caught up in a whirlwind of concert tours, paparazzi and personal appearances. But for all the fame, Tajči felt a certain emptiness inside. Before long the communist tyranny that had held Croatia crumbled and war came to her homeland. At the age of 21, she turned her back on the life on of a popstar, and came to the United States. Once there, she found fulfillment in prayer. It is this story that she interweaves with the story of the birth of our Saviour. Using one of the most beautiful voices on the planet to carry us to carry us from the whispered inspiration of Breath of Heaven to the soraing heights of her own Magnificat, she then takes us to her show stopping rendition of Silent Night.
This special Christmas concert was held on 3 Decemeber 2009. Thank you to all who helped make it possible!
