Peggy Vanka Brasko: It was well known that my father worked at painting the murals at a furious pace. He usually worked between 16 to 18 hours daily through the entire week. He worked without a watch so as not to be influenced by the time of day. He started the work in early April and finished on June 10, 1937 in time to coincide with a church celebration scheduled by his Friend Fr. Zagar. He sent letters to my mother as time permitted and sent some cartoon Iike sketches to me to show how he worked. I was very young at the time and he thought I might like to see him in action! A few of these are shown here. I hope you will enjoy them. Below are my comments on these sketches.
